Situated in the heart of London’s East End and in the cultural borough for the 2012 Olympic Games, this beautiful Matcham building has been an iconic venue for the arts and popular culture since it first opened.

The opportunity and the challenge for this position will be to create a theatre for the 21st century that embraces a local and global community of artists and audiences; and to nurture and present a body of work that is at once extraordinary, popular, inspirational and transformative.

The appointee will be an exceptional individual who will provide inspirational and empowering leadership of the organisation to deliver a thriving theatre by ensuring artistic excellence in tandem with financial stability and a diverse audience/artist base. A dynamic combination of creative vision with strategic business, entrepreneurial, advocacy, people and significant change management skills is a must.
