Panopticism
Panopticism is a devised play that explores how a group of friends who bear witness to an incident reap what they sow, as a nasty habit comes back to reek havoc, stirring up fear and suspicion, and how our environment can force an individual to choose an identity.
Today we live in a society where carrying a knife is expected and the un-written codes are protected; where young adults are forced to do someone's 'dirty work', where the arms dealers are on high alert.
The walls have ears, the bin has a tongue. A bizarre setting all wrapped up in one. One incident … nine lives in the mix, as expected this tale has a twist, where the knife and pole are desperate to scratch an itch.
