Hackney Empire presents the visionary world of the Italian photographer Marco Sanges. Every sequence tells a unique, multi-layered story, creating a highly personal, imaginary cinema.  On 11 February, the preview night there will be a live installation co-devised with director Alberto Bona. Special guests include controversial artist Gavin Turk and legendary composer Michael Nyman, whose music will be specially performed live by a string quartet.

We will be holding a public meeting to let you know Hackney Empire’s future plans. There will also be an opportunity for you to ask questions to a panel made up of Empire Senior Staff and Board of Trustees together with officers from the Arts Council and the London Borough of Hackney. The meeting will be independently chaired by a leading arts professional.

Hackney Empire is proud to be part of the first major residency of Jazz at Lincoln Centre Orchestra at the Barbican; a series of concerts charting the story of the American jazz orchestra – celebrating 80 years of great big-band music. Also featuring a major Creative Learning programme, workshops, family concerts and performances across East London.
