Dibbi and Delroy present the 2008 291 shows leading up to the exciting finals during the Hackney Empire's Spice Festival.

Ooh Laard!  Come and join Dibbi, your delightful Bajan Dance-Hall Queen  and kick-start your summer weekends in June and July at The 291, London's favourite variety show, Friday nights from  June, leading up to  the Grand Finale on Friday 25 July.

Each week Musical Director,Delroy Murray, introduces six rising stars performing in the legendary 291 showcase, singing our favourite songs in their own unique styles, live in concert with Delroy's full sized R'n'B Pit Orchestra.  The top act from each week goes through to the Grand Finale and the Season's No.1 Act wins a free holiday to Barbados courtesy of www.flycrc.com, British Airways and http://www.mullinsheights.com/.

Join Delroy and Dibbi each week (buy a season ticket - get a generous discount) and enjoy the shining variety of the funkiest street dance, cutting edge comedy, lyrical poets and Mcees and 291's off-the-wall game show. Plus the most exciting live singers' showcase, providing an industry standard platform for thirty-six top flight unsigned vocal entertainers.

Open auditions for talented unsigned singers will be held at the Hackney Empire's Marie Lloyd Bar every Monday at 8:00 pm, starting from 7 April. Eligible singers must:

Be aged 16 or over

Be without a record deal

Not have had a professional booking at the Hackney Empire

Be available to perform on any one of the Friday night shows (6 to 27 June and 11- 18 July) and the grand finale on 25 July.
