Other Participation and Learning Programmes
In addition to our flagship First Stage and Real Life Real Theatre Participation and Learning Programmes we are also working with communities on the following:
Culture Ambassador Programme
Hackney Empire and Shoreditch Audiences have launched a new Culture Ambassador programme which aims to get the word out about all the fantastic arts and creative opportunities in the borough.
We are working with 15 young people from Hackney, aged between 14 and 19 until March to promote cultural programmes in the borough and beyond, and the Discover Young Hackney festival. They will develop skills in leadership, arts knowledge, marketing and communications, team work, arts administration and the work is accredited by Arts Award.
The Culture Ambassadors are playing a key role in programming and marketing I’m In. For details of how to get involved in this event please contact Stage Door on 020 8510 4500 and quote ‘discover young talent’

Take it to the Bridge
Hackney Empire's Participation and Learning department is working in partnership with the new academy which opened in Hackney this year, The Bridge Academy. With our team of artists, their team of teachers and all 185 of their year 7's we are creating an original piece of theatre about the East End through the last century using dance, drama, vocals, music, production management, writing, and design that will be performed on our legendary stage at 6pm on July 12th as part of the Spice Festival.
