Paradise Gardens Festival presents a UK premiere: Laika and Time Circus -"Sensazione" (Belguim)
Sensazione is a theatrical fairground that expands to the rhythm of your heart....a colourful carnival where show people bombard you with tales of wonder and extraordinary requests.
Once past the gateway, you are free to roam the fairground, but the attractions also need your physical energy and enthusiasm. The machines won't start moving and the lamps won't start burning until you use your muscles.
The show won the Caixa Catalunya prize for the Best Premiere at La Fira de Teatre in September 2007. The award is given by an international jury of professionals from the performing arts.
Laika is a theatre company operating at an international level that creates 'theatre of the senses': imaginative productions aimed at children/youngsters and grown-ups who have retained their child-like capacity for surprise. Its productions appeal strongly to the senses and abound with tasty stories, new recipes and unknown worlds. Artists in different disciplines join forces to deliver the company's hallmark: lucid, expressive, and accessible theatre.
Time Circus Collective is a travelling company from Antwerp. The commitment and daring with which they build their machines is impressive. They create work with which man blends with machine and the actor merges with his props. Time Circus calls it ‘circunst' (‘circ-art').
Sensazione is suitable for adults and children over the age of 12, the show lasts for 75 minutes, with no interval, although there are pauses between sections of the show. Please arrive 15 minutes before the publicised performance time.
