Opening in Cape Town at the end of February 2012, this re-imagining of Puccini's classic is set in the townships of present-day South Africa. Featuring a magnificent score played by an orchestra of marimbas (which won huge acclaim when used in The Magic Flute) and steel pans together with the world-class voices and extraordinary acting talent of the Ensemble. Pauline Malefane (Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute) will sing Mimi.

A brand new musical adaptation by Stephen Lowe of one of the most popular and influential socialist novels of the 20th century, this production is set in an apartheid-era Cape Town of the 1950s and is emotionally charged with popular songs of the period together with many of the powerful songs of the Struggle.

A vibrant and moving new musical for all the family from 8 to 80, based on a brilliant script by Peter Terson. The recent history of South Africa provides a context for the story when, as a slave, Aesop realises that liberty comes with responsibility as he learns some real truths from animals he encounters on his journey to Mount Olympus. Inventive and beautiful choreography add to the atmosphere of this powerful moral tale.
