About BBC Ten Pieces Schools Concerts

Experience the power of live orchestral music on a musical journey through time in a spectacular BBC Ten Pieces Schools Concert with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

Join the BBC Symphony Orchestra for a spectacular Ten Pieces Schools Concert at Hackney Empire, where pupils will be taken on a musical journey through time to experience the power of live orchestral music.

Designed for Key Stage 2, this concert introduces young audiences to classical music in a way that feels exciting, accessible and full of discovery. With an expert conductor and an energetic presenter guiding the way, pupils will explore how music can carry us back through history and speak to our experiences today. Each piece includes interactive moments and listening challenges, encouraging pupils to take part and help steer the orchestra through time whilst exploring how composers from the past and present tell stories through music.

This event is free for primary schools in the Olympic Boroughs, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest, and offers the perfect launchpad for creative work back in the classroom using BBC Ten Pieces resources.
