Writers’ Room is a free programme that will support you to develop your storytelling skills through your writing.

Led by industry professionals you will learn new skills and leave confident enough to pitch your work to agents and production companies

Are you an aspiring storyteller and or writer, looking to develop your craft and understand how you can take your work onto the next level in a professional sphere?

Keen to understand how to adapt your ideas into different forms, such as for Theatre, TV & Film or Audio Dramas?

Would you like to know how TV writers room works? Or are you curious to know how to pitch and write treatments? Then The Writers’ Room Programme is for you.

After a successful pilot (that saw previous participants head to Edinburgh Fringe), The Writers’ Room is back. Across the 8 weeks you will spend time exploring and developing skills such as:

You’ll gain skills in:

  • Learning to write pitch ideas.
  • Thinking about different mediums stories can exist within.
  • Writing treatments. Breaking story collaboratively.
  • Experience co-creation and getting the taste of a TV’s writers room

This programme is for anyone aged 18-27 who considers themselves a writer but is unsure how to navigate the world professionally. By the end of the project, you will hopefully leave confident enough and with the right tools to pitch your work to agents and production companies.

There will also be 1-1 sessions around February for anyone who wishes to have any extra work done around their writing.
