We’ve just released the full film and soundtrack from our Artist Development Programme (ADP) 2023 show UNmuted: A revolution has never sounded so good.
UNmuted: A revolution has never sounded so good explores the power of unity and friendship. When a new law has been passed making music illegal, a group of young people find a safe space, a secret space, where music can exist again, and begin plans to fight the power. However, as the group splits and tensions rise, they must quickly decide what is more important to them – protest or safety.
Our Artist Development Programme (ADP) is a two-week summer programme produced by Hackney Empire: Creative Futures. In under two weeks a company of 50 young artists and creatives, aged 14 – 19 years old, are mentored by industry professionals to create and present a sensational piece of new and original musical theatre.
